My Very Early Years and How I Fell in Love with Cars and Anything with an Engine

I was born on 06-14-1951 and grew up on different farms in Severance, Eaton and Windsor in Northern Colorado. Back in the 50’s when living on the farm, a child started working very early in life. One of the first things I remember doing was laying out the irrigation tubes, but that required me learning to drive our 1949 Chevy 3100 Pickup when I was 6 years old and our 1954 Oliver 55 Tractor for working in the field at 7 years old. I got my first new car when I was 8 years old. See My First Car Below

2 Months before I was born in 1951, My Grandpa retired at 67 and bought a 1951 Pontiac Chieftain and drove it about 40,000 miles. Just before I turned 16. he passed away at 83 and My Mom inherited his car. She let me drive it for a couple of months before I found my 1962 Chevy Impala to the right.
